Day 10: Jean Jackets & Sock Buns

I think I have had this jean jacket for about 10 years now...crazy, huh? The thing about jean jackets is they never really seem to go out of style. It's funny to compare them to pearls, but it's true...they are both classic and timeless. And they seem to get better with age too:)
I'm also loving the simplicity of the maxi skirt and sock-bun. If you don't know how to do the sock-bun yet then I suggest going to YouTube and typing it in....there's a vast amount of how-to videos. And you'll leave there wondering where it has been your whole life. I know I did.

Day 9: Fifty Shades of Fuchsia

Who says you can't wear bright colours for fall? I am loving this easy wear top from Old Navy. It is so comfy and is a hi-lo top (meaning longer in the back which is great for those annoying ride-ups when sitting). Also, if you are thinking of getting these fab suede pumps....I suggest you run on over to Aldo because they are seriously one of the comfiest pairs I own! I actually danced all (almost) night in these babies! Oh dear now it is bringing back memories from San Francisco and the Californian sun. I better stop myself...

Day 8: Layering For Fall

So you might notice the small hiatus that I took from blogging. Well not only was the weather not co-operating for a while, our camera and lenses were also stolen last week. Very, very sad day here at our residence. But as they say..."Onward and upward!". So after a few days of mourning we decided to re-invest in another Nikon (this time a D7000). Welcome to the family! We took it for a test drive on a beautiful fall day....a day perfect for showing off some layers for the cooler weather. I have decided to fully embrace this season and not to focus on the snow to come...(Yes, i just said SNOW!) Now where's my pumpkin latte?

Throwback Thursday: J at age 1.

As I sit here late at night on a Thursday I realize that my idea for the "Throwback Thursday" is kind of lost on the fact that you will all be reading this on a Friday. Oops! Oh well, c'est la vie! Yesterday's post got me reminiscing about our past photo shoots with Whitney Lane Photography. In anticipation of our family photos in a few weeks I wanted to reach into the vault and pull out my fav photos from when my little guy turned 1 years old.

"i'll love you forever,
i'll like you for always,
as long as you're living,
my baby you'll be."

Day 7: Golden Stud Muffin

On Sunday the Hubs and I went searching for some potential family photo spots and this was one that caught our eye. It's been 2 years since we've had the 3 of us (J is now 3!) documented in photographs so I thought now's the perfect time! Our great friend over at Whitney Lane Photography will be the talent behind the lens and I can't tell you how excited I am to see them after all these years. This gal and her charming hubby are awesome and you should really head on over to the website and check it out. And PS. I think they like to travel :)

Day 6: Pearls, Lace & Flowers

Honestly, I am a self-proclaimed girly-girl. I love all things floral, I gush over pearls and bows and don't get me started about pink things and lace. I also love that this dress is not only cute but it's from Preloved....a "one of a kind from reclaimed vintage fabrics"! It was definitely love at first sight when I walked into a local boutique here my home town called FWO (formerly known as "For Women Only"). The only thing I changed up about the dress (to make it a bit more modest for myself) is added the scallop edge (with my mama's help of course).  Now tell me...what makes you weak in the knees?

Day 5: Rockin' My Inner Kate

Who doesn't enjoy the colours of the ocean and a good pair of nude pumps? I call these heels my Kate Middleton shoes. Why? you may ask. Well one of the reviews on the Aldo website said they look kinda like Kate's shoes and then just the other day someone pointed out that they look exactly like what Kate would wear. So I have decided that I will gladly prance and twirl around in them and feel like a princess. There's no harm in that, right? Look out world... I am practicing my wave ;)
